In 2001, the Ministry of Education regulated the curriculum standard of physical education and health (draft version), and adopted it in 42 experimental places.The curriculum standard of physical education and health have been released for 6 years. There are both achievements and problems.This dissertation adopted the method of literature, questionnaire, statistics, and logic analysis. Based on the investigation of the elementary school teachers and some pupils , it explored the current problems of the curriculum standard of physical education deeply and carefully.The conclusions:1 .The age of physical education teachers are relatively old. And quantity of the part-timer and non-specialties are relatively big. And the level of diploma are relatively low.2.The time of urban schools' physical education classes and extra curriculum sports activities meets the national regulation, some rural schools failed to meet them.3.The sport facilities and equipments can barely meet the new standard requirements.(let alone rural schools). There are more ground track fields in rural schools than in urban schools, but most of them are non-standard.4.The studying of the curriculum standard can not be guaranteed. About more than 56.25% of urban school teachers haven't read it, about 49.28% of rural school teachers even haven't seen it. The awareness of the new standard is unideal.5.Most of the Wuhan city school teachers favor the notion of "health comes the first", and they can deal the relationship between the students and teachers. However, the acceptance of "target prevail activities" and "five categories" is low.6.The training classes of the new standard is far below the need. There and too many kinds of point views. And the training time is too small. The rural school accepts much less training than the urban teachers.7.The teachers put the interests of the students the first place when selecting teaching target and materials. Game method are the most adopted ways in practice, and random grouping is the most adopted teaching organizing method.8. Most teachers favored the notion of the new standard, but there're many difficulties in execution. There are not much gap in the scaling range and method between post and before the new standard release.9. Most teachers favored the notion of development of teaching resources, and they are executing the notion actively. The main means of development are in teaching field, facilities, and equipments.10. Although most teachers think the new standard are different from the old one in teaching notion, teaching quality, teaching difficulty, teaching capability, teaching accountability, and work load, but they think the different are not so big.11 .There are still many difficulties in the executing of the new standard. The center urban teachers think the main difficulty lies in the lack of guidance, but the rural teachers think the limit of teaching facilities is the top of the ceiling.12. Most of the pupils questionnaired hope to play more interesting games in the classes, but only very few think they can feel the joy of success in the physical education classes.Based on the above facts, this dissertation concluded the main problems are as follows in the adoption of the new standard:the problems of the teachers themselves, the theoretical problems in the new standard, the training problems, and the lack of guidance.It advised:1 .Import more young physical education teachers to Wuhan city.2.Improve the specialty qualities of the P.E teachers.3.Improve the performance appraising system of the P.E teachers.4.Provide training of the new standard for Wuhan elementary schoolteachers.5. Improve the theoretic system of the new standard.6. Put in more financial resources in the rural schools of Wuhan.
