With the development of our socialist market economy,the secondary vocational school has more chances and challenges, As the schoolmaster of a secondary vocational school ,he is a nucleus, a director and a decider. The schoolmaster's idea, behavior and style of work will influence the work of a school,and a good schoolmaster can make up some inadequacy of running schools ,Therefore ,it is not easy to be a schoolmaster ,and it is more difficult to be a good one .It is very important to improve the quality and ability of the schoolmaster. "The schoolmaster is the soul of a school" What is the charm of a schoolmaster?In my opinion ,it is the comprehensive influerue of his political moral quality, intellectual leael and administrative ability, etc. In a word ,a good schoolmaster should be not only a person of virtue who has noble moral character, a wiser who has broad and profound knowledge,but also a resourceful expert and an openhearted benevolent gentleman. This paper discusses school masters' performing responsibilities well and illustrates the meaning on being a qualified school master. As is known to all , secondary vocational school is an indispensable part of the vocational school field. The development of vocational school is under direct influence of quality of vocational school master. School masters' poor management is reflected in several aspects , laggard educational Concept, lower quality, severe short ---term conduct, ignorance of people _ oriented management. Reasons for this are various, among them, depressed trend in vocational school, laggard masters' management mechanism, and deficient quality training are main ones. This paper elaboborates idea measures on school masters' part about: building up the educational concept "advanced with the times" ; raising people's quality; emphasizing the construction of both software hardware facilities; adhering to people—oriented; ----building harmonious environment; advancing democratic and scientific management; building school based on market mechanism .
