Due to different national distribution and constitution, the multinational areas take on different features from the ethnic concentration areas in such aspects as politics, economy, culture and national relationship and so on. In addition, compared with the education of the ethnic concentration areas , the education of the multinational areas differ to some extent in development level, educational systems etc. Therefore, in the study of the education in multinational areas, we should not take the methods and concepts from the education in the ethnic concentration areas.Among so many multinational areas, Congjiang county in Guizhou province is a representative one with typical features in which exists two types of schools—ethnic school and non- ethnic school. They show no apparent differences in the aspects of length of schooling, teachers' nationality composition, students' nationality composition, teaching content, teaching language, school culture etc. With the unceasing intercourses and fusion among different nationalities, the production and living and other aspects in the multinational areas demonstrate apparent homoplasy, of which the similarities of school -running patterns between ethnic and non- ethnic school is a clear reflection in school education. Therefore, we should not attach our importance alone to single national characteristics and emphasize the distinctive national features simply when managing education in the multinational areas, while we should have an understanding of the regional features on the whole. In school education, we should pay much attention to territorial characteristics and adjust our measures to local conditions so as to enable education to meet the needs of the overall development of this area and accelerate the development of this area and even the whole society. Simultaneously, as for some distinctive national cultures, we should regard it as a part of the education content and carry on the inheritance in the school.
