PE class is an important part of quality education and an essential means of improving the overall development of students healthily and harmoniously. The importance of the curriculum resource is arising with the deepening of the reform of the primary education in our country. The curriculum is based on the curriculum resource which supports the curriculum in return. The exploitation and utilization of the resource is a challenge towards the present education, a requirement of cultivating students with created mind, and a guarantee of the smooth performance of the new round curricular reform.The present study is conducted in various ways, covering document, field work, questionnaire, statistics and interview. It provides a theoretical overview of the notion and principles of the exploitation and utilization of the PE curriculum resource. By way of investigating carefully the present state of the exploitation and utilization of the PE curriculum resource in 50 middle schools from 6 cities in Henan province, this paper surveys the main problems in the exploitation and utilization of PE curriculum resource in the middle schools. Considering this, the present study also analyzes the principle reasons and puts forward some countermeasure in the hope of offering some suggestions for the better exploitation and utilization of the PE curriculum resource.The results indicate that there exists a common problem in PE curriculum resource in municipal middle schools of Henan province, that is, the lagging of the teaching concept, inadequate understanding of the importance of course exploitation and utilization, insufficient initiative and enthusiasm. Besides, the staff, field and equipment are incapable of meeting the need of teaching and training, and the time allotted for physical activities is far from enough. Consequently, there is still insufficiency in the exploitation and utilization of physical human resources, PE facilities, content of curriculum, extracurricular resources, geographic resources and PE information. With the deepening of the reform of the PE curriculum, the teachers'awareness of the resource exploitation escalates. For example, the PE classes are carried out outside the class and outside school. Community and nature resources have also been utilized. In addition, importance has been attached to the utilization of human resources both inside and outside the school. Moreover, some traditional and newly sport items are introduced to class. This paper also investigates the main factors that influence the exploitation and utilization of the curriculum resources in Henan province. The factors include the leaders'recognition and support, teachers'awareness in curriculum resource exploitation, the devotion of physical outlay, PE teachers'teaching concept, educational evaluating system, teachers'knowledge structure, corresponding insuring and inspiriting mechanisms, and self-determining potency. Based on the these factors, we propose some countermeasures and suggestions of the PE curriculum exploitation and utilization in municipal middle schools of Henan province in the purpose of drawing the teachers'attention and arousing their consideration of the above-mentioned problems, so that proper exploitation and utilization of physical curriculum could be carried out, and gradual enhancement and perfection in PE teaching could be realized.
