The 21th century is an era with hi-tech and quick information. How to educate the new generation effectively in order to meet the demand of the future society is a new challenge for the modern education. It is necessary to dig the teaching potential and reform the old teaching mode and methods. We politics teachers should think about how to arouse the students' interest and how to promote the students' overall development. In order to reform the old mode of test-oriented education, to reinforce the emotional education is an effective method, which manifests the quality education and promotes the students' independent development.Emotional education is put forward in the condition that cognition and rationality are emphasized, but emotion is neglected in the present education. It is a part of the whole education, not a special and independent teaching form. Emotional education is concerned about the people's emotion, happiness and value, and to use the emotional factors to realize the human education, that is, in the teaching process, the teachers should respect and foster the students' social quality, develop their feeling-control quality, and make them to have the active emotional experience between themselves and environment, so to form the independent and right personality. Meanwhile, the students' attitude, mood and belief are concerned in order to foster the healthy and harmonious development of both the students and society.The basic meanings of emotional education is that the teachers should bring into play the positive effect of the emotional factors in the teaching process, so as to complete teaching aim and reinforce the teaching effect. This thesis explores the connotation, characteristic, principle and theoretical foundation of emotional education, and stress the necessity and efficiency of practicing emotional education in the politics class. By the combination of theory and practice, the new research achievement is developed, which could foster the class-teaching reform of the middle school politics lesson and promote the students' independent development.
