Currently, the vocational education is being led to an unprecedented fast-developing time. Firstly, as the development of information industry, industries have found a new drive to develop in a quick and new way. And consequently our nation's economy is coming to a new growth period. However, the rapid growth of economy is now facing great lack of technical labors; secondly, with china's entry to WTO, more and more world production industries are relocalizing themselves in china, and that is also facing the same problem, lack of technical labors. Thus, the government has decided that in the period of"11th five year planning", it will allocate more than 10 billion to develop its vocational education to meet new needs. So expectedly, in the near few years, the enrollment of middle vocational schools will be over 8 million, which is almost the same size of the enrollment of Middle high schools.Hence, it is a high time to investigate and research how to improve the qualification of vocational education."The learning from others may attack the jade."The author intends to investigate and analysis the new trend of middle vocational education in Japan since 1990s and see if there is much in their method that we can make use of.The author first has an retrospect on Japanese vocational education between end of WWII and 1980s, especially the author focus on the problems that it had and the methods that government took to solve the problems. And then, the author elaborate the new development of Japanese vocational education to meet the needs of the advancement of Japanese economy and industry since 1990s: it includes the great function of the ideology"vocational career education"; a wide range of characteristic vocational middle schools, such as"comprehensive high school""scientific and technical high school"open to adjust to Japanese industry development and students'individual variety. Finally, the author analyzes current vocational education in China, and based on our current situation, the author gives some suggestions for Chinese vocational education reform by the enlightens of success of Japanese vocational education reform discussed above.
