The 21st century is an era of information, thus it becomes so necessary for the development of a whole country or an individual to make every educated one to learn how to use information. And rural education is the top priority of education. As everyone knows that education must get ahead of time, this trait means Education Informization in rural areas is a key link of national Education Informization, its application condition will influence that of the whole country directly. Education in rural areas is a huge project, which covers a broad region and involves substantial work. Factors such as the uneven distribution of primary and secondary schools and their different circumstances, the fact that the weak overall situation has not fundamentally changed, make it much more difficult to develop IT education in rural areas. Therefore the affect factors of Informization Education in these areas are various, such as hardware, environmental issues, the question of funding, the issue of teachers etc. The target of Education Informization is to promote Quality Education, cultivate innovative talents and realize education modernization. One of the key steps to this goal is to improve the Information Literacy of rural teachers.Based on the above background, in this paper the author mainly used systematic method, combined qualitative and quantitative methods, selected six middle schools in three underdeveloped rural areas and conducted a questionnaire survey. According to relative theory analyzed junior high school teacher professional development of information literacy status in underdeveloped rural areas, then provided improving strategies.Main contents of this paper are as follows:The first part is the basic theoretical research. On the basis of analyzing literature of Information Literacy and basic connotations, the author studied the theory and practice at home and broad recently to build a solid basis for action research.The second section describes the research process and conclusions, including the design of the questionnaire survey and the basic situation of objects. Based on this reveals the current status of junior high school teacher professional of Information Literacy, and then tries to find the contributing factors.The third part develops the strategies to improve junior high school teacher professional information literacy in underdeveloped rural areas. The fourth is a reflection of research and summed up.Therefore, this research can be cited as a case of how to improve information literacy for junior high school teachers in underdeveloped rural areas, and with rich reference value for rural teachers in primary and middle schools, teacher training works and school managers. This study not only has important practical significance in practice, it also has some academic value for the theoretical study of Informization teacher professional development.
