Interpersonal conflicts are common social behaviors in ordinarylives. They may be arosed by various causations alone or jointly, such ascommunication disorder, different way of cognition, different characters, conflicts of interest and so on. Differences of personality traits, socialskills and ways of behaviors caused individuals' different understandingand attitudes to interpersonal conflicts. Therefore, people take differentcountermeasure, which influence interpersonal relationships andphysical-mental health differently. The study investigated the conflict reasons and countermeasures ofinterpersonal conflicts among the undergraduates by questionnairesurvey and case study, and it probed into the relationship betweenconflicts reasons and countermeasures. Three hundred twentyundergraduates from the Central South University volunteered for thestudy and finished related questionnaires. Through frequency analysis, correlation analysis of statistical data by spss, we reached theconclusions as follows:Firstly, interpersonal conflicts of undergraduates happened mainlyamong intimate people such as roommates and classmates.Secondly, undergraduates think highly of feelings but low of utilityin interpersonal relationships. Interpersonal conflicts are most likely tobe caused by the suffering of self-esteem, but least of conflicts ofinterest. The other factors are in a equally proper proportion.Thirdly, in the conflicts, they would be more likely to fight againstby argumentation or step away with tolerance.Fourthly, after the conflicts, they solve the problem bycommunication or reflection but rarely turned to others. At last, to reduce the negative influence of interpersonal conflicts, improve the mental health of undergraduates and enable them to adoptto the society, it is important to develop the education of mental healthand intervene the interpersonal conflicts.
