As China's economy and the urbanization process accelerate theirdevelopment after the implementation of reform and opening, a greatnumber of migrant worker come from the countryside to the city to work ordo business. Owing to China's dual social administrative systems andinadequacies of the compulsory education system, thousands uponthousands of children of migrant workers cannot equally receivecompulsory education in the city as their city counterparts, and thus thedropping-out problem is regretably serious.The problems of the compulsory education of migrant workersconcerns the sustainability of China's urbanization, the implementation ofthe quality education for all Chinese. They even influence the harmoniousdevelopment of the entire society. For this reason, the central governmentand local government at various levels have all formulated relevant policiesand taken all sorts of measures to to overcome the difficulties of migrantworkers in getting their children into schools, which have to some extentsolved the problems. But many problems, such as failure to be admittedinto school, dropping-out, school quality, difficulties in adapting to theenvironment, still persist, due to the imperfections of China's policies andthe limitations on the part of the migrant workers.This paper explicitly discusses the various reasons for the problems ofthe compulsory education of migrant workers through refering to andconsulting the central government and local governments' relevant policiesand research findings, and investigations on my own. On the basis of theresearch, counter-measures, suggestions and implementation suggestions are proposed to solve the compulsory education problems of the migrantworkers' children, which involves quickening the process of legal systembuilding for migrant workers' compulsory education, perfecting the reformof the education administrative system, actively pushing forward thesupporting reform of the social administrative systems, and etc..
