Informationization is a tendency of economy and society's development at present. Information technology centered with multimedia and technology of network has become the creative tool that can cultivate human's abilities. To adapt to the developing trend, it is established in our country that the education of the information technology should be popularized in primary and middle schools. Meanwhile it is emphasized to strengthen the integration of information technology and other subjects. Despite this, the school education is still focused on the classroom teaching; So is the focus of education being informationized. As a result, it follows that various modernized teaching media emerge .While these media are applied to the teaching practice, problems arise. For example, the most widely used equipment, the computer and project, can better display the media material, but in using it, there appears the disadvantage that the use of this medium reduces the chances of the interaction between the students and teachers in class. However, the invention of the interactive whiteboard makes it possible to combine the function of the media computer and that of the blackboard and to construct a classroom teaching atmosphere similar to that created by the tradition method of teaching, chalk and blackboard. The whiteboard not only preserves the traditional method of teaching, blackboard writing and analysis, but also makes up for the disadvantages of previous teaching media. It provides the technical support for the integration of information technology and subjects and gradually becomes the tendency of modern class media.The application of media technology to the teaching of physics has its exceptionally gifted advantages. If the advantages and the function of the interactive whiteboard is combined with the teaching of physics in the middle, there will be rapid development in the teaching of physics. Based on the research into many materials and teaching practice, this article discusses the application of the interactive whiteboard to the physics teaching in the middle school. To be specific, the detailed research and results are as follows.First, the author looks back to the development process of the interactive whiteboard, makes clear the reason and background of its invention and predicts its future. In this way, this article offers convenience for other teachers to know about the whiteboard as soon as possible.Second, it is surveyed and compared what disadvantages and disadvantages of a variety of today's teaching media, which provides the grounds to perfect the construction of the information technology.Third, combined with the characteristics of the physics teaching, the author studies how to teach physics in the middle school with the help of the interactive whiteboard and the application of other functions. Its specific functions are summarized in the article, that is, the display function of the media, the special effects, data function and interactive function. These functions provide reference and guidance for the classroom teaching.Fourth, the author offers the teaching design of the physics teaching assisted by the interactive whiteboard and the specific cases as well. That also provides the reference schemes for the improvement in the quality and efficiency of the physics teaching.Fifth, the author also points out the defects that exist in the whiteboard and gives the feasible suggestions for improvement of the whiteboard.At the end of the article is the outlook for the application and development of the interactive whiteboard.
