With the increasing improvement of Quality Education and the deepening of fundmental education curriculum reform, our national fundmental education is in a critical period of reformation and transformation. As an educating agent for popularizing the historical knowledge to the high school students—the high school history textbooks, The compling and writing have been paid more and more attention by the history educators,The style and the structure of the history textbook have great influence on the selection and organization of the specific content. They also have a direct influence on the process of teachers' "convenience teaching" and students' "happy learning". And have relation to the results and quality of teaching. Therefore, in order to do a good job and make good use of history textbooks, it is necessary to conduct a systematic research on the style and structure of the textbooks.This thesis includes four parts:Part I is the Introduction, including the definition of related concepts, academic review, the object of this research paper and research methods.Part II discusses the development and changes of the style and structure of the three editions published by People's Education Press. From the stylistic point of view, the 2004 new edition textbook changes the old model, describe history through chapters and sections according to the general history. And adopt a new model combing Chinese and foreign history according to special subjects. From a structural point of view, the new history textbooks demonstrate the following characteristics: the types of the textbooks change from a single form into a composite one. The supplementary textbooks change from a closed type to an open one.Part III analysis the reasons for the development and changes of the high school textbooks. It is thought that the style and structure changes are affected mainly by the three factors: Modern educational concepts, Humanism theory, Constructivist Learning Theory, the history textbooks of Hong Kong, Europe and the United States.Part IV proposes the problems that exist in the new edition history textbooks in the aspects of the style and structure and the corresponding recommendations for improvement. The author thinks that the history textbooks needs to be improved and developed from the following four aspects : From the simple collection to the effective integration of Chinese and foreign history; From the separation of the three model to infiltration, Change history textbooks "textbook" to the "study" material and focus on from form to the real.
