With the Effective School Movement in American in the 1960s, the research on the instructive leadership was formed. It has been researched more deeply in American and European countries but much less in our country. Due to lack of our theory research on instructive leadership, our principals' error in thinking and understanding, the higher authorities' intervention, the conflict between the teachers' speciality and the principals' administration, etc. all these reasons lead to the present problems, such as the wrong orientation of the principals' roles, their delayed ideas, their reverse of the goals and the ways, their improper methods of leadership. To settle these problems, the principals need to carry on the instructive leadership effectively, to transform their roles, to work out the ideas on instructive leadership, to formulate the effective tactics on instructive leadership.With the more systematic research, this dissertation is expected to do some good to the theory construction of the principals' instructive leadership, to have some guiding and reference significance to the principals' instructive leadership in our country in order to achieve the goal, namely, to improve the school's efficacy, to guide the teachers improving their speciality and the teaching quality, to put forward the students' studies and development.According to the history and the reality of the instructive leadership, this dissertation is to analyze and approach more deeply to the principals' instructive leadership, to put forward a better ideas and tactics on the principle's instructive leadership, using these theories on pedagogy, management echelon, the leadership, organizational behavior, etc.This dissertation is made up of four main parts.Part one, the introduction. This part introduces the reasons, the significance, the summary of the research at home and abroad, the train of thought and methods of this research.Part two, the connotations of the principals' instructive leadership. It is mainly about what is the principals' instructive leadership. Firstly, to give the definitions of the leader, management, instructive leadership and the principals' instructive leadership. Then, to inquire into the relations among the leadership and management, the instructive leadership and the curriculum leadership, the principals' instructive leadership and the teachers' instructive leadership, etc.Part three, the ideas of the principals' instructive leadership. It is mainly about what the principals' instructive leadership should be. Seven ideas are put forward: to launch a development programme and establish the global consciousness; to centre about teaching and improve the teaching quality; to set a good example and encourage everyone; to encourage competition and need cooperation more; to have a democratic style and form harmonious atmosphere; to take teachers and students as basic importance and strengthen coordination and mutual understanding; to reform and bring forth new ideas and set up a learning-style school.Part four, the tactics of the principals' instructive leadership. It is mainly about what the principals' instructive leadership should do. Eight leading tactics are put forward, including leading tactics on teaching goals, teaching subjects, teaching contents, teaching researches, teaching methods, teaching environments, teaching process and teaching evaluations.
