Sex-roles are steady psychological and behavioral characteristicses that form during individual socialization. At the beginning of the former century, researchers began to study the structures, types of sex-roles, and the self-esteems of different type′s people. After validating explicit two-dimension structure model and implicit one-dimension structure model, our study focused on the classification of the explicit types, sub-types and implicit types of sex-roles and the rationality of sex-schema theory, at last, our study tried to ascertain the explicit and implicit self-esteem differences between different sex-roles type's people. This paper is divided into three parts: the summary, the empirical studies and the conclusions. Study one aims at validating explicit two-dimension model and implicit one-dimension model of sex-roles' structures; Study two purposes to divide explicit and implicit sex-roles types, and to validate the rationality of sex-schema theory. Study three focuses on the explicit and implicit self-esteem differences among all types′people. Results: (1) sex-roles′structures are composed of explicit two-dimension structure and implicit one-dimension structure;(2) the explicit sex-roles′types are divided respectively into 4 kinds in positive and negative traits: masculinity, femininity, androgyny and undifferentiated; sex-roles are sorted into 16 kinds subtypes after combination of positive and negative traits, the 5 people in 3 kinds of 16 kinds subtypes are eliminated, leaving 147 people in 13 kinds subtypes; the implicit sex-roles′types are divided respectively into 2 kinds in positive and negative traits: masculinity, femininity; (3) sex-schema theory is approved partly;(4) there are remarkable differences in explicit self-esteem among all of explicit sex-roles′types, but there is no difference in implicit self-esteem among of them, there is no difference in explicit and implicit self-esteem among implicit sex-roles′types.
