As is known, thinking quality is a diversity in personality shown from the process of happening and developing of thinking activity. This kind of difference leads to the intellectual feature in individual thinking activity. As a result, different people have different thoughts. Some have deep thinking, while others have superficial thinking; some flexible, while others dull. That is what people of different thoughts show. The period of high school is the key period of the development of students'thinking of all kinds. Therefore, only by developing students'perfect thinking quality, can we get the students to make sense of geographical concepts, master geographical rules, and settle geographical problems creatively, and can we realize the educational theory of"based on the students'development"in new reform of geography subject. So that we can lay the foundation of educating talents of creativity and personality.In this article, how to develop students'perfect thinking quality is probed initially. The whole article is made up of six parts. The forword sets forth the background of this research, and the value of developing thinking quality, and illustrates the importance of this research. Chapter One deals with the concept of thinking and thinking quality, and inquires into the relationship between component parts of thinking as well as the component parts of it. Chapter Two expounds the theory point of developing geographical thinking quality, and proves the possibility of developing thinking quality in high school geography teaching. Chapter Three is that the thinking quality developed in high school geography teaching is the base of the development of thinking quality. Chapter Four elaborates the relationship between the development of thinking quality and high school geography teaching, inquiring into the teaching conditions, principles, and types of developing students'thinking quality. Chapter Five is the main Point of this article, which talks about the teaching tactics of developing students'thinking quality from thinking broad range, profundity, flexibility, quickness and so on. In Chapter six the practical importance of this research is explained through experiments. The last is the concluding remarks, summarizing the main conclusion, making the next step of research clear, and the inspiration and shortcomings got from it.
