The mathematical activity teaching, whose formation and development is based on the absorption of teaching thoughts from the constructivism, John Dewey's learning by doing and Freudenthal's recreation, is a basic form of mathematics teaching. Its fundamental guiding thought is promoting development with activities, and its fundamental acquisition mode is students' initiative study. It emphasizes that the students should participate initiatively in the educational experiences and constructive activities designed delicately by the teachers for acquiring mathematical cognitive level and comprehensive development of multiple abilities. In this paper, we give the concepts of "activity", "activity teaching", and "mathematical activity teaching". By studying the case of teaching practice, we analyze the mode of mathematical activity teaching in junior high school. From the data of survey, we analyze the passive factors and active needs during the process of mathematics study, then we study the importance of activity teaching in mathematics lesson.Main conclusions of this paper are following:1.The mathematical activity teaching mode of"scene-issue"stresses on student's development at different levels, meets the student's cognitive development law. It is conducive to the cultivation of creative thinking of students.2.The mathematical activity teaching stimulates the student's interest in learning and promotes the study of change in form. While, it helps the student fostering cooperation , exchanging capacity and improving the quality of mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities.3.The main obstacles of mathematics activity teaching are teachers initiative factors, the selection activities and evaluation factors.
