The viewpoint towards values is a basic personal outlook towards people and things in the world, a systematical viewpoint including brief, tendency, opinion and attitude of value in the aspect of value choices. It is also a most basic series of yardsticks or standards for deciding whether a certain social phenomenon or ideology is right or wrong, significant of not, and acceptable or not, i.e., the value choices of subjects towards objects exist stably and long as a viewpoint in the individual or colony conscious system.Different from another acknowledge form of decision and science, viewpoints of value is a value standard to measure such things as right or wrong, genuine or false, kind or evil, and beautiful or ugly. As a viewpoint system, which has the guiding, evaluating and adjusting functions on the thought and behaviors of people, it is a belief or standard that motivates a person to make decisions and carry them out. Different viewpoint towards value leads to different evaluation on values, because the behaviors of people are guided or affected by their, we can see different value viewpoints behind different behaviors.Mental health is an interrelation to help fully exploit one's potentialities, properly deal with and adjust to person-to-person and person-to society relationships. It is also an efficient, satisfactory and long-lasting psychological state as well as a inside psychological and outside activity harmony state of acknowledge, feelings and characters. In such a state, an individual can get adjusted to the present and future development, can study, work and live happily and actively or passionately and fully exploit his or her physical and mental potentialities.Mental health is significant to a person, because it can not only prevent him from effectively mental diseases and free him from mental sufferings, but also make a person grow or develop better, stimulate his potentialities and improve the living quality and sense of happiness. High school is a critical growing period for any person, because the great bodily and psychological changes in this period as well as the more and more complex social surroundings can easily cause all sorts of mental problems among high school students. On the other hand, facing the fact of either going into society or entering colleges, their mental state of healthy or not will directly affect their future study, work and lives.Value viewpoint has closed contacts with mental health, because the mental health is all in all a matter of value viewpoint, and behind mental problems there always exist some value contradictions. For further, many phenomena of misbalanced mental problems are caused by misbalanced value viewpoints. The misbalanced mental state of many high school students is in fact the misbalance of value viewpoints, therefore, to solve mental problems is in fact to solve the problems about value viewpoints. On the other hand, whether a person's mental state is healthy or not will have a counteraction to the formation and development of the value viewpoint. This research aims to reveal the relationship between value-sense and mental health, to analyze the different effects of factors such as sexes on the value-sense and mental health of high school students, and by this means to seek some helpful ways for improving the education of high school students'value-sense and mental health.By SCL—90 Symptom Self-Valuating Table and a value sense questionnaire to high school students, the researcher made a test for 379 high school students, and then with interrelationship analyzing method and bi-factor analyzing method, examined the difference of the testing results, which show:1) The study by SCL—90shows that 37.99% of high school students have slight bad psychological reaction and 17.9% of them obviously have all sorts of mental problems. Boy students'physical, stubbornly biased and mental psychological reactions are much stronger than girls', in other words, the boys'symptoms showing in these respects are more serious than boys. The older age, the worse health, and in the respects of sensitivity, depression, horror, crankiness and mental symptoms, such problems become more serious as ages grow.2) In the respect of life value goal, boys pay greater attention to physical health than boys, while in the respect of social value goal girls pay greater attention to international harmony and equality. The life value goals of children from single-child families are far different from those of children from non-single-child families and further analysis shows that children from single-child families regard safe and satisfactory relationship as more important than children from non-single-child families; a child with a mother having a degree under high school takes physical health more important than a child with a mother having a degree beyond high school; students from different income families have quite different attitudes towards safe and satisfactory relationship in the respect of life goals.3) Three value goals as well as their most factors (excluding safe and satisfactory relationship and the prosperity and stability of a nation) concern with mental health, though some factors acts positively while others passively.4) Students with different mental health having different view senses is showed in: students with excellent mental health concern more about the factors like personal growth and interior harmony, physical health, social stimulation, personal behaviors, abilities and efficiency, clothing, and elegance, while students with certain apparent mental health problems concern only about the factors of physical health and social stimulation.In the aspect of research tools, this thesis tries to combine the SCL—90 Symptom Self-Valuating Table and the High-school Students Value Viewpoint Questionnaire; in the aspects of contents and theory, this thesis first makes a inquiry into the interrelation between the value viewpoints and mental health of high school students, which to some extent enlarges the angle of views; furthermore, the research achievement will provide some practical consulting values for the carry-out of mental health education and morality education for high school students.
