As the latest curriculum reform started in June, 2001 when theministry of education promulgated, the implementation of integrated practical activity curriculum, ahighlight of this reform, has been gaining educators' popular concerns.To learn it's present situation, the writer investigated the followingfour groups: executives of schools, teachers, students and parents on themain links in the curriculum implementation at primary schools inChangsha by using scientific methods on the basis of collecting andsummarizing the existed research achievements. The investigationconsists the knowledge and attitude of school staffs to the curriculum,curriculum plan and it's place, curriculum resource, the development ofactivities, the effects of implementation-and during which the problemsoccurred, students' participation, parents' supports as well as the mainfactors restricting the curriculum implementation.Result of the investigation shows that the continuous concern ofeducators, the experience of experimental schools, the knowledge andgreat interest of students in the curriculum in total contributed to thedevelopment of the curriculum implementation. Meanwhile suchproblems are also obvious and serious as curriculum objects are notachieved entirely, it's resources are not sufficiently utilized andexploited, it's status is not stable and the activities are not effectivelyprogressed.By analyzing the result of investigation, eight factors restraining thecurriculum .implementation are figured out. Ranged in importance, theyare staff's quality, school leaders' supports, curriculum resources, systemguarantee, the staff training, school culture, the difficulties of curriculumitself and social understanding. The writer then analyzed these factors indetail by applying psychological, educational and management theories. Finally, aiming at the problems explored and taking into considerationof factors identified, the writer presented some consulting suggestionsand wished to improve the regular and popular implementation of theintegrated practical activity curriculum.
