| Track-and-field course is one of the main obligatory courses to the major of advanced pedagogical P.E. in our country. It also plays an important part in realizing the new aim of training P.E. teachers for primary schools. The Teaching Directing Outline of Undergraduate Courses of the Major of Pedagogical P.E. in ordinary Advanced Colleges, printed by the State Educational Department in gan,1998, says: The teaching aim of track-and-field course is to make the students have the basic essential thearitical knowledge and skills of secondary schools and directing exercises and practice. The aim emphasizes the importance and necessity of developing the capabilities of the track-and-field teaching. With the turning of our school education form Exam-oriented to Quality-oriented and the many-faceted development of primary and secondary school's P.E. education, the professional qualities an abilities of P.E. teachers should be comprehensive in order to meet the reform of primary and secondary P.E. and health education , and also the need of training the teachers of new pattern. However, due to the subjective and objective and other reasons, the advanced pedagogical track-and-field course in jiangxi has carried out the athleties-centered training system for a longtime, which ignores the development of student'strack-and-field fit-keeping training. Therefore, teachers trained under the system cannot be qualified to track-and-field teaching that foundational physical education needs; and the integration and harmonization of athletics'duality has been restricted. To transform the present conditions of advanced pedagogical track-and-field teaching in jiangxi andto keep the course teaching and course aim unanimous, the research, combined with the demands of primary and secondary schools in our province, pooposes an adding of track-and-field fit-keeping course to the major of advanced pedagogical P.E. in jiangxi as the supplement and consummation to the traditional teaching. The research, also combined with the suggestions of experts in high collages of jiangxi ,on the basis of theoretical analysis of track-and-field fit-keeping course , puts the course into teaching in the form of games for 2months'teaching experiment. The rescclts of experiment shows:or. 1) The course can be in accord with the training aim of advanced pedagogical collages on the whole, be identical with secondary P.E. teaching practice, and reflect the requirement of track-and-field course of quality-orienteal education.2) Adding the course to track-and-field teaching is possible, effective and extended during the process of teaching.3) The research is the urgently-required-solved problem of the reform of advanced track-and-field course. The adding stimulates the harmonious development of track-and-field's duality, and mitigates the disagreement between supply and demand. It is a foundation of revising the teaching outline of advanced pedagogical P.E. maj4) The fit-keeping teaching ,added to the track-and-field teaching, can make the students reach the standard of state physical exercises, and has the same effect with the traditional athletics-centered teaching.Advice:1)The high pedagogical colleges in jiangxi should valve the research right now, and offer the course as soon as possible to meet the demand of advanced pedagogical track-and-field course in jiangxi, and test it continuous by practice.2) The offer of the course is not the denial or replace of the traditional course, but the supplement and consummation to the traditional one. Both the added one and the traditional one should coexist and be complemental to each other. Fully excavate the connotation of athletics'duality to keep athletics in integrating and developing.3) The range of the research should be extended. According to the features and function of the track-and-field course, we shoceld develop much more scientifie teaching design, teaching methods, examining technies, and so on, to satisfy the need of modern scienty's quality training.
