Under the guidance of life-long education thinking, the teachers' education should be carried out focusing on the developing features of teaching career, planning as a whole the teaching activities in three phases as teachers' pre-career training, acceptance and on-the-job training. This essay is based on this conception, further analyzing the current situation of teachers' education in secondary vocational schools in China and Japan in order to learn the experience from Japan.It specifically introduces the current situation of teachers' education in secondary vocational schools in both countries with less touch in their history, which is considering the pertinence of this comparison. While introducing the current situation, it has a detailed and general analysis on the three phases of teachers' education, i.e. phase of teachers' pre-career training, phase of acceptance and on-the job training. Followed is the comparison between the current situation in two countries about the differences, similarities and their causes.Based on the helpful experience from Japan and the national situation in China, the final part of this essay puts forward some strategies on reforming the teachers' education in China: intensifying the role of universities in training teachers so as to upgrade the training level of teachers in secondary vocational schools; reforming curriculum planning so as to lay a sound foundation for life-long development of teachers in secondary vocational schools; setting store by the integration of"technicality"and"normality", integration of"theory"and"practice". establishing graded system of teaching certificate so as to promote the conscious development of teachers in secondary vocational schools; strengthen the rules of teaching acceptance so as to intensify the profession of teaching career in secondary vocational schools; reforming the training system of teachers in our country so as to improve the on-the-job training system of secondary vocational schools in China; Reforming the annual examining system of teachers in our country so as to establish an effective appraising system; establishing an integrated teachers' educational system of secondary vocational schools in China.
