Extracurricular physical exercise is an important way for school to develop qualified sports talents in an all-around way, and also an important part of the national system . The level of EPE is of great influence on the level of sports in a district or a country to a great degree .Therefore , to strengthen the studies of the EPE is of significant importance. This paper has researched and analyzed the extracurricular physical exercise in the district of Kashi through academic reference, questionnaire, interview, statistics and logic analysis, and the following condition are reached:1.In Kashi Xinjiang the extracurricular physical exercises have achieved success in developing reserve talents in sports .The development of extracurricular physical exercises is on the way , and all the schools are training the reserve talents within their power. However, the training still has some problems unsolved in Kashi because of many factors.2.The number of PE teachers in Kaashi can meet the PE education in the main , but the work load is too heavy. Uigur teachers take a large proportion, and their educational background are mainly specialized subject . most of the PE teachers devote themselves to the EPE; however , because of uninsured training fee, bad training condition and low welfare, teachers are not active in PE training.3.Among the students in physical exercises, Uigur are more than Han and boys are more than girls, Uigur girls are the least. Most of the students who have 2-3 grades are engaged in football, basketball, and track-and-field sports. It is closely related with the emphasis of middle schools , sports clubs and amateur sports schools on them and the elective courses for PE majors in colleges.4.In this district, the average number for EPE is 3.906 in middle schools, 5.575 in amateur sport schools, 4.93 in sport clubs and 4.05 in colleges. The average time for each EPE is 1.26 hours. Teachers who take part in EPE all year around only constitute 21.6 per cent, and the others just take part in exercise occasionally. It can be inferred from this that the entire quality of the EPE in this district is not high.5.By the influence of proportion of students entering schools of a higher grade, school officials don't pay much attention to the physical exercises. There is still much contradictory between EPE and academic studies. Training students who are poor studies constitute 60.27 percent, but most of the parents support their children to take part in the EPE . It is of promoting influence for the development of reserve talents in Kashi.6.According to the current condition of reserve talents training, all the officials who are in charge of the PE should change their mind, invest more funds into the EPE, and arouse all the teachers'training enthusiasm through various means. The training should be strengthened to improve the teachers'training level. The academic studies of students should be emphasized in order to eliminate the contradictory between studies and training, and some polices should be made to free students', parents'and teachers'mind of apprehensions. Competition lever should be used appropriately to promote the training of reserve talents in sports and improve the level of competing sports.
