Since the one-child policy has been implemented in China, the accumulated number of only-child families which play an important part of the society is getting one hundred million. Family education, then, has become a hot issue of today.However, the lack of scientific methods and right directions, the obsolete and uncultured misconceptions of education, the imbalance between intellectual education and moral education, mentality and physical education, and the inferior teaching quality, are still the main problems.It is the time to solve these problems and conflictions in the application of the family education. From the demotics point of view, concerning the only-child question, the author expatiated on the status and the characteristics of the only-child family education, analyzed the existed phenomenon and reasons, compared with the family education in some western developed countries, tried to find a better countermeasure to improve.There are three parts of this article. The first part expatiates the characteristics of the one-child family education in China, which are compared with the western countries later. The existed problems and reasons are analyzed in the second part. At last, some suggestions are given by the author.
