An Investigation On The Parentalrearing Patterns Of The Older Childrenin Two-child Families

Since 2016,when the country’s two child policy was introduced,the number of second child families in China has increased,and the parenting style of second child families has become a hot topic in child discipline.To understand the changes and present situation of the parental rearing patterns of the older children after the birth of the second child,to explore whether there are problems in the parental rearing patterns of the older children,and to influence the older children,to analyze the relevant influencing factors,and to put forward the corresponding educational suggestions,it helps to build a harmonious family atmosphere,maintain good parent-child relationship and sibling relationship,and is of great significance to promote the social and psychological development of the older children.The research uses the questionnaire survey method,the interview method and the observation method to obtain the two-child family parents to the big child rearing pattern correlation data.First,the parents of 220 two-child families in Fujian and Guangdong provinces were surveyed,and 202 valid questionnaires were collected.Second,the parents and older children of six of the families were interviewed and observed,combining the questionnaire data,interview content and observation cases,the change of the two-child family’s rearing division,parents’ rearing style,rearing concept,attitude and behavior toward the older children,parents on the older children’s Sibling Acceptance Education and the status of the relationship between siblings,and other aspects of a detailed analysis,draw the following conclusions:1.The problems existing in the parenting style of the older children in the two-child family are: The incomplete parenting concept of the older children;the bad parenting attitude of the parents toward the older children;and the improper handling of the sibling relationship and differential treatment of the parents in the aspect of behavior.2.The factors that influence the parenting style of the older children mainly include the parents’ own factors(such as education level and occupation),the influence of the grandparents’ parenting style,the influence of the characteristics of the older children(such as personality,Sex),and so on.3.Parenting styles has both positive and negative effects on older children’s cognitive,emotional,and behavioral development.The positive effects are: some older children have positive role perceptions and are receptive to younger siblings;With younger brothers and sisters have positive,good interactive behavior,good sibling relations,contribute to the social development of older children.The negative effects are: some older children have negative cognition,role conflict,emotional alienation,negative attitude,psychological imbalance,excluding younger brothers and sisters,there are bad social behavior,such as regressive behavior and aggressive behavior.Finally,in view of the existing problem and the influence factor,proposed the corresponding improvement suggestion: strengthens the study consciousness,sets up the scientific parenting idea;Fair treatment of two children,a balanced distribution of resources;parents and grandparents work together to raise a good family atmosphere.
