In 1983, Professor Howard Gardner who is the developing-psychologist of Harvard University, put to use the development and cognitive psychology, biological evolution, anthropology, psychology surveying, and other fields of knowledge to propose Theory of Multiple Intelligences through the empirical research and factual analysis to the gifted children, brain injury patients, the environment and education, and other aspects of the impact, which was based on the single factor in the criticism of intelligence. He believed that intelligence was formed by a combination of structural, which was dynamic and able to develop. Each student had their own strengths intellectual field and had their own learning styles and methods. Then there were no bad students in the schools, and all students had their own intellectual characteristics, learning styles and the development direction of the plasticity of talent. Proper education and training would enable every child to a higher intellectual level of play. Education should be in everyone's comprehensive development on the basis of intelligence to create a wide variety of students demonstrated the various intellectual scene and give everyone the choice of diversification, which was to stimulate the intellectual potential of each person and fully develop each person's personality. He pointed out: "there are no two people having exactly the same combination of intelligence in the world, and every child is a potential of gifted children."The Theory of Multiple Intelligences get rid of IQ-type mentality, jumped out of the traditional framework of a psychology by the boundaries, pointing out that the traditional intelligence test, mental and intellectual development of the evaluation of serious flaws in today's society and shaking pursue intellectual concept, the concept of education, examination and concept talent basis of the legitimacy of the selection criteria, which had had a profound impact on in the education sector.The works by Gardner were translated into 20 languages, the other specializing books and papers in the theory of Multiple Intelligences in Western countries of the psychological and educational research results also accounted for a very substantial proportion in the United States alone. There were at 100 schools claiming to be a pilot school of Multiple Intelligences, and there were more than 1,000 schools regarding Multiple Intelligences Theory as the guide for teaching reform. Theory of Multiple Intelligences had become one of the important guiding ideology in the Western countries since the 1990s educational reform."Quality education, and promoting all-round development of students" was the main objective of China's current education reform, which happened to coincide with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences and education coincides with the direction. Theory of Multiple Intelligences provided a scientific theoretical basis for China's education reform, which enabled us to think educational connotation and the mode of the future education, and to help us identify and nurture those the intellectual strengths that was not recognized in the traditional education in order to our development and testing of the new curriculum, new teaching techniques and evaluation of new teaching methods.
