Art appreciation course is an important part in senior high school art teaching, which plays an active part in cultivating students'aesthetic conception and improving their abilities. It's also a part of students'full development. For many years, a lot of experts and scholars concerned have been majoringin researching and reforming senior high school art courses, but it has not developed fast due to poor teaching conditions, unqualified teaching staff and preferrance to other courses of college examination. The main teaching method is for teachers to teach orally in class, which doesn't fit the requirement of ability improvement. Research on multi-intelligence theory is quite popular in foreigh countries. Such a theory is adopted to lead students to carry out deep research into a certain teaching topic, with the teachers'leadership there, and it has already become an excellent teaching methods, while at home, a teaching reform on"developing multi-thoughts"is just being carried out, but no complete teaching systems have been gained, and students'physical and mental structure features have been ignored. This essay mainly deals with how to develop students'multi-intelligence under the leadership of multi-intelligence theory, using the guiding thoughts of"teaching for and through multi-intelligence"in senior high school art appreciation class.This essay consists of five parts, with the preface to present the research significance and methods, with the first part to classify senior high school art appreciation classes, to present the teaching methods and the teaching means. The second part is to introduce the concerned states of mental features of senior high school students.The third part is to definate the concepts concerned of multi-intelligence theory and to present some basic theories concerned. The fourth part discusses how to develop students'multi-intelligence through studying senior high school art course arrangements., teaching desigh and teaching evaluation. The last part is to analyze the existing problems and disadvantages of this research, and to forecast the following research of this topic. Students'study activities should be combined with their living experience, and it's hoped that students'abilities could be better developed.This essay uses document research and experiment research to explore multi-intelligence theory. It's expected that teachers will change their traditional teaching methods, which give priority to linguistic intelligence and mathematical logic, to enhance students'independence and researching learning attitude and methods.
