Research On The Relation Between Mental Self-supporting And Occupational Choices Of Senior University Students Studying Science And Technology

It had aroused all quarters attention that the senior university students'occupational choices. Various universities had done all kinds of the vocational guidance to help their students to carry on the occupation choice. In the practice, different students had differently enthusiasm for taking on this guidance; students in the similar guidance obtained different influence. The students'difference on mental self-supporting may be an important factor to influence their occupational choices. From the beginning of this suppose, taking senior university students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology as object, after the research,interviews and the exploring factor analysis of the preliminary questionnaire, this study formed a formal questionnaire. Exerting it and Xia Ling-xiang's mental self-supporting questionnaire,the paper measured one hundred senior university students from different speciality. The results of this study follow as:â… .The occupational choices model of senior university students studying science and technology may haply divide the attitude and ability of occupational choices. The attitude included immixture degree, satisfaction degree, self-confidence degree. The ability included object course and frustration tolerance.â…¡.internal concordance coefficient(Cronbach a coefficient), split-half reliability, content validity and construct validity of the occupational choices questionnaire of senior university students studying science and technology were good. The questionnaire could be used to test the occupational choices of senior university students studying Science and Technology.â…¢.There is significant positive co-relation between the mental self-supporting and occupational choices of senior university students studying science and technology. As a whole, the colony in the high level mental self-supporting had also higher scores in the occupational choices. Male students and the people taken up an occupation had higher scores than female students and the people not taking up an occupation on not only the mental self-supporting but also the occupational choices. The speciality of high rate on obtaining employment had slightly high scores than the ones of low rate, but this difference was unconspicuous.According to the above conclusion, the following measures was suggested:â… .To strengthen cultivating students'mental self-supporting in college moral education.â…¡.The university should strengthen vocational guidance from psychological respect.â…¢.The respect of college vocational guidance should be apt to long vocational development.
