Study On Problems Of The Specialty Setting And Optimization In The Local Undergraduate Academy

The specialty setting plays an important part in the Higher Education. Whether it is reasonable is directly related to the quality of the college talent training, which is decisive to the scale and quality of the college. After the development by leaps and bounds, the local undergraduate academy meets the developmental bottleneck, and the problems in specialty setting, construction and structure appeared gradually. At present, 90 percent undergraduate education is shoulderd by the local undergraduate academy. How to improve the specialty setting, optimize specialty structure and stengthen the construction of specialty connotation play an important role in proving the quality and the overall strength of our nation's higher education.The research, devived into five parts, explores the problems of specialty setting in the local undergraduate academy through the methods of Literature analying, historical research and investigating.The first part of the article mainly introduced the background, significance, the status quo and the researching methods, and also defines the core concepts. The second part anaylzes the tatus quo of the specialty setting in the local academy (mainly in Zhejiang province) through the apects of specialty distribution, specialty structure, specialty characteristics. The third part Interprets the specialty setting in A college from the aspects of subject categories, new specialty, characteristic specialty, normal majors and non-normal majors, undergraduate and vocational specialty. The fourth part discusses the problems existing in specialty setting in A college, and anaylzes the internal and external factors which affects the specialty setting in college. The last part of the essay probes into a series of problems such as the principle, basis and advice to optimize the local undergraduate academy's specialty setting.Inorder to be invincible in the fierce competetion and achieve self-development, The local undergraduate academy has to follow and adapt to the following principles: principle of meeting the local economical and social development, principle of standing out the features and paying attentions to the major development of the connotation construction, principle of doing the harmonious and continuable development with the subject construction, and principle of laying stress on the harmonious development both of the scale and benefit. According to demand of the local economy and culture development for the talents, college development orientation and its superiority, the existing teaching resource status, specialty setting demand of the national and provincial director department, sticking at doing well the following four aspects work:(1)optimize the talent training patterns, cultivate the students' continuable development abilities;(2)optimize the subject structure layouts, establish professional superior and inferior mechanism;(3)optimize the curriculum system construction, continually deepen the specialty connotation construction;(4)deepen the college and department two -level managing system reform, explore the new mechanism of the specialty development.
