Research On The Optimization Strategy Of Specialty Setting In Private Undergraduate Colleges ——Taking Jilin Province As An Example

With the three revisions of the law of the people's Republic of China on the promotion of civilian run education(hereinafter referred to as the law),the increasing renewal of the requirements of the times and the changing needs of the people,private undergraduate colleges and universities began to develop towards high-quality education.How to promote their connotative development has become an urgent problem to be studied and solved.The setting of majors is not only the embodiment of the school running characteristics,but also the guarantee of the quality of talent training.Therefore,scientific and reasonable specialty setting is the need for the further high-quality development of private undergraduate colleges.This paper first explores the relevant connotation and theoretical basis of specialty setting in private undergraduate colleges,and then analyzes the principles and orientation of specialty setting in private undergraduate colleges combined with relevant theories.Next,taking the current situation of specialty setting in private undergraduate colleges in Jilin Province as an example,this paper investigates the process of specialty setting,the coverage of discipline categories and the distribution of links with the job market;Finally,combined with the interview records of relevant personnel,this paper analyzes the characteristics of their professional setting.According to the investigation on the current situation of specialty setting in private undergraduate colleges in Jilin Province,this paper analyzes its current situation by using SWOT analysis method,and comes to the conclusion that its internal advantages are relatively flexible specialty setting,the concept of specialty setting reflecting school running characteristics and paying attention to the support between disciplines and specialties;The deficiencies are the lack of perfect market research and prediction mechanism within the colleges and universities,the focus on traditional majors,the lack of emerging cross majors,the lack of close connection between specialty setting and the employment market,and the major setting is greatly limited by school running funds and resources;The external opportunity is the opportunity brought by people's attention to academic education and the social concept of undergraduate institutions under the background of the popularization of higher education,which makes private undergraduate institutions have relative advantages in enrollment,as well as the supply side structural reform and the development of science and technology;The main challenges are that the autonomy of specialty setting is still limited and the competitive environment of higher education market is severe.Based on the investigation of the current situation of specialty setting in private undergraduate colleges in Jilin Province and SWOT analysis,this paper puts forward the corresponding optimization strategy: seize the opportunity and optimize the combination of educational resources;Develop characteristics and form core competitiveness;Accurate positioning,based on the source of students and the job market;Multiple attempts,multi-channel and multi-body fund-raising;Construction mechanism,parallel market research and prediction,etc.In a word,private undergraduate colleges in Jilin Province should further improve the quality of running schools and promote their long-term sustainable development in combination with their own reality.
