The Anning District which links the town and country, is situated in west of Lanzhou city, there is in advantageous geographical position of plant growth, and rich in plant resources. In this paper, application of plant resources in biological teaching of middle school in the Anning District was practiced and studied, and drew a list of main plant in the Anning District. All this will supply a real and reliable material for one understudying and consulting the information related to plant type. Through comprehensive and detailed investigating, we affirm and appraised main plant 221 species of 80 families in the Anning District, and made a real photo of every species by digital camera. Looked up Latin name, main feature and uses of every plant in a simple and brief biological dictionary, and made power point material with pictures and language for media teaching and studying. The teaching experimental object was taken as the students of Grade Seven Changfeng Middle school in 2006, and let them observe, discriminate and investigate common plant in the Anning District, which opened up the field of vision of the students. The students collected common plant species and made the plant wax leaf specimens. Those built up the ability of students and enriched biological teaching resources of Changfeng Middle School.Through questionnaire of biological experiment, environment protect and nutritive health to all students of Grade Seven of 9 junior middle school in the Anning District, we know that the experiment was offered a course for the students of Grade Seven in the Anning District on the low side, average 56.01%, while the experiment in Changfeng Middle school is in the lead, it is 90.48%. For all students, the grasp rate about environment protect knowledge is lower, average 44.45%, the highest is 79.25% of Changfeng Middle school. The results of Z test show that the difference between the students of Grade Seven in Changfeng Middle school and the other schools' is very significance. The grasp rate about nutritive health knowledge is also low, average 54.41%, the highest is 75.75% of Changfeng Middle school. The results of Z test show that the difference is not significance between the students of Grade Seven in Changfeng Middle school and the Second Middle school attached Northwest Normal University, is significance between the students of Grade Seven in Changfeng Middle school and the Middle school attached Gansu Agricultural University, very significance between the students of Grade Seven in Changfeng Middle school and the other Middle school about nutritive health knowledge.Plant resources in Anning District were used as experiment material, the students' ability to do experiment , observation and thinking on their own were fostered, and the students get twice the result with half the effort by classroom experiment of students, demonstration experiment of teacher, and extracurricular experiment of students, concentration experiment method using the same material to do many experiments, comparison experiment method using many kinds of material to do the same experiment, utilization local material method using development resources to do experiment et al, Combining biological courses contents of Grade Seven with main plant resources in Anning District, we took classroom infiltration as dominant, extracurricular activities as supplementary teaching way, conducting environment protect and nutritive health education to students, intensifying environment quality of students, strengthening nutritive consciousness of students, produce a marked effect.
