The geography of middle school is a practical science which plays a very important role in the development of society, but there are a lot of problems in building up the ability of the middle school geography science. It is well known that the geography is non-key subject in many people's mind ,we can observe this subject is still taught by retelling and reciting, few teachers could pay attention to building up the ability that how to learn geography science well.How to cultivate the students' ability of innovation and creation has been paid attention in education field and the total society in recent years, what's more, it has become a key talk in elementary education. There are lots of experience of teaching and study fruits in this field in many places in which there are many good ideas and ways .however, it is still a problem that no one could find a way about how to build up the ability of geography science in school's education.So this article bases on "the research learning" and develops from the construction theory cognization structure theory and information processing theory and finds some problems about how to study geography ,what's goal of the geography study , how to organize and operate this subject ,how to appraise this subject ,then gives some good advice on how to build up the ability of the geography's structures ,methods, especially the study effective.By the research leanrning exploring, the exploring learning have many successes as follow: the first,it foster the students' innovactive capacities,the second,it foster the students' interest of learning geography,what's more,it is help for valuing students themselves.the effect of the application of the research learning in senior high school geography teaching was valued and anlyzed.Meanwhile,it has some deficiencies such as them:the first,the research learning focus on more learning process,but ignoring learning result and it is divorced from current "Gaokao balon" ,it is very hard at gaining systemic and scientific and basic knowledge .The second,it cost more time for students gaining the capacities.the three,some of school lack a set of supporting in fund.last but not least,all kinds of exam,enter higher school,and society relative some aspect give school and teacher the more and more compressive stress,which result in the warp between the short-term teaching aim and aim that is designed for the research learning and so forth.that all above should be improved and consummated in the process of teaching and research in the future.
