A long period of time,geographical education in our country because of not been given sufficient attention,cause of middle school geography education research has been in a relatively backward status,Not only lagged behind the research of foreign counterparts,but also lagged behind other subjects in education research.Facing the increasingly serious population,resources, environment and other global issues,Countries around the world strongly emphasize to cultivate geography subject ability of middle school students.However,what capabilities does geography subject ability include,and how to cultivate these capabilities effectively,Are still in debate status.This thesis attempts to build a more reasonable structure of geography subject ability,and propose specific and feasible strategy for cultivating each structural element,and provide the theoretical foundation for middle school geography teaching.Under the guidance of this idea,this thesis is divided into three.In the first part,on the basic of analysising lots of information related to geographic subject ability,infiltrating consider of mine,I attempt to build the structure of geography subject ability. This structure includes the following five elements:geographic information processing ability, ability of using map,geo-spatial thinking ability,geographic analysis and forecasting ability of the process,geographic practical ability.In the second part,through a questionnaire survey,I Learn the cultivating status of geography subject ability in the current middle school geography education,and summarize the problems existed in the training process.Because of time,energy and other factors,the survey questionnaire are only a part of ten middle school students of Nanzhao,Nanyang City in Henan Province.The third part is the focus of this thesis,through a combination of theory and the case,I propose cultivating strategies separately of geographic information processing ability,ability of using map, geo-spatial thinking ability,geographic analysis and forecasting ability of the process,geographic practical ability.The enhancing of the structural elements of geography subject ability is not mutually independent,they are mutual influence between each other and promote each other.In the course of training,elements of these abilities could not be easy to separate,and should be considered as an organic whole,for achieving mutual promotion and common development.
