The modern school education is to cultivate all-round development of students, the cultivation of the ability in the three-dimensional teaching target is the first condition, also is the assurance of student development. So in today’s education should pay attention to the cultivation of student’s ability training objectives. To this, the world all countries attach great importance to each subject ability structure of reasonable construction for students. For the community resources, environment and other global problems, relating to the student of geography subject ability training is becoming more and more important. Is in the foundation position in junior high school geography geography study, the stability of the foundation to determine the height of the superstructure and broad. Attention to the cultivation of students ability of junior middle school geography discipline, not only has practical significance, but also influence the development of future geographic learning situation. In view of the junior high school geography has irreplaceable vital role, we should notice more middle school students of geography subject ability cultivation and improve. Then what junior middle school students of geography subject ability is the ability to what aspects, how we can correct and effective to cultivate the ability?This article first through consulting a large number of relevant literature, establish the junior middle school students should cultivate geography subject ability structure; And then design the questionnaire, statistics of the questionnaire data, sums up the practical teaching of students problems in geography ability training; Training strategies for the specific teaching cases to render the final design, so as to provide certain theoretical basis for middle school geography teaching and practical guidance.In this paper, by analyzing all kinds of periodical literature reading, clear the structure of geography subject ability in junior high school students: namely, geographic information gathering processing ability, map using ability, geography space thinking ability and geographic practice ability this four parts. On the basis of the junior middle school students of geography subject ability structure, design the corresponding questionnaire, analysis of the questionnaire information, so as to conclude that now geography subject ability training for students in the school teaching shortcomings. In view of the existing problems, and design of concrete teaching case, expect to establish and to develop junior high school students of geography subject ability.
