With gradual establishment of China's socialist market economic system, the deepening awareness of market and the improvement of people's living standard, land working conditions and social welfare are gradually improving. Under guiding and coordinating of related Government departments, graduates and employers can select mutually through the sufficient communication between employers and universities. After the employment regulation basically established that Maritime student can sign the employment agreement with employers six months ahead, it brings students the broadened Maritime professional career and the expanded careers room to develop. Survey showed that: for students majored in Maritime, their values concentrate on self-development and the pursuit material benefits. As a result, many students do not want to work on a ship or are unwilling work long term on ship, which causing Maritime professional recourses serious drain out. With the world economy development and growth of international trade, the demand for the crew, especially for senior crew offshore, has continued to increase resulting in senior crew offshore supply and demand imbalance has become increasingly obviously contradictable. Who has sufficient high-quality crew team will have the initiative in the occupied shipping market shipping industry is the inevitable trend of development.Based on the above, sourcing the development trend of the shipping market, the crew assignment labor market, as well as the status of sailing talent supply and demand, from these aspects, this paper analyzes the employment prospectors for the students majored in Maritime. Comparing with the current tensions in growing the overall employment situation, Maritime graduates face a much better situation with demand exceeding supply, which is fabulous in the dilemma of undergraduate employment. Therefore, the author conducted an integrated investigation on the education of Maritime Major and employment situation. In order to get more clearly concept of employment preference, vocational intention, employment situation and the responses of employment guidance, the author designed and arranged a questionnaire survey. After collecting all first-hand information, this paper finds out the existing problems of the employment for students majored in Maritime. Absorbing the experience at home and abroad, from micro to macro, the paper tries to bring forward a feasible countermeasure with the adjustment of policy-oriented employment to guidance-oriented mechanism then to employee's mentality.
