The Causes Of And Countermeasures Against The Teaching Job Burnout

With the aggravation of the competition in this society, people bear more and more job stress. The sense of job burnout accordingly appears when this stress goes beyond the threshold one can bear. Nowadays, it is quite common for teachers from elementary schools and high schools to havethe sense of job burnout, which deserves further consideration.Through inquiries and researches, the author finds out five major causes of the taching job burnout.First, the most apparent and direct stress is from too much amount of work and responsibilities for security. Second, the teachers have to accept the challenges from the pluraistic trend of the pupils'thoughts, personalities, consciousness, and the good rate of only child as well as child with single parent. Third, teachers cannot adapt themselves to the reform of the new courses whose content is devorced from evaluation. Fourth, teachers feel mentally and physically exhausted under the rigid administration. Fifth, teachers themselves cannot strengthen their conviction in the education.In order to alleviate the taching job burnout, the author suggests some countermeasures as follows: first, according to human nature, the management should take appropriate and adequate measures to lower the workload and better the working conditions. Second, the school leaders should have a democratic and liberal work-style, paying much more attention to choosing and training teachers. Third, teachers should adjust their state of mind, devote themselve to the education, try to improve their teaching skills and adaptability, strive for the pupils'surport so as to overcome the burnout.
