Occupational interest, as one of influencing facets of occupation selection, plays an important role in the exchange process between individual-selecting and post-demanding. In these years, higher vocational colleges have being given more attention by the whole country and the society. However, the high employment and constantly changing jobs in the higher vocational students cause the necessity and emergency of researching the occupational interests among them, which is very important for the higher vocational college whose enrollment and majors are influenced. So it is very valuable in theory and practice to study their occupational interests. Based on overviews of former researchers and the investigation of open-ended questionnaire, the theoretical hypothesis was constructed. According to relevant scales at home and abroad and the situation of current China, we compile the Preliminary questionnaire of higher vocational students' occupational interests. The logical structure of higher vocational students' occupational interests was constructed by the exploring factor analysis of the preliminary questionnaire and the confirmatory factor analysis of the formal questionnaire. Finally, Questionnaire of the Higher Vocational Students' Occupational Interests was formed. What's more, the characteristics of occupational interests of higher vocational students were investigated with this questionnaire.The results of the study revealed that:1. There are six types of higher vocational students' occupational interests. Technological, Natural, Artistic, Social, Powerful and Enterprising. The order of these types can be confirmed with above-mentioned sequence. Types that are next to one another are most closely related. For example, Technological and Natural, Artistic and Social, Powerful and Enterprising. Types that alternate with one another are more closely related. For example, Technological and Artistic, Natural and Social, Artistic and Powerful Enterprising, Social and Enterprising.2. The self-designed questionnaire of higher vocational students' occupational interests was of high reliability and fair validity. It can be regarded as a kind of evaluative implement on higher vocational students' occupational interests.3. Higher vocational students' occupational interests showed statistically significant difference in gender. Male students were more apt to Technological and Natural, and female students were more apt to Artistic.4. The significant differences of the higher vocational students' occupational interests was found in grade. Freshmen got higher score on Technological and Enterprising occupational interest types than other grades. Besides, the higher of grade and the older of age, the less of range of their occupational interests, which was beginning to point to specific occupations.5. The significant differences of the higher vocational students' occupational interests was found in major. Students majoring in Science and Engineering Course were more apt to Technological, students majoring in liberal arts were more apt to Artistic, and Social. During the college time, students' occupational interests showed distinct differentiations for different majors, students of different majors had different occupational interest types, and the range of the occupational interest of the students special in liberal arts was wider.6. The difference of the higher vocational students' occupational interests between urban and rural students was significant. Rural students were more apt to Technological and Natural.7. The interactions between genders and majors on occupational interests were statistically significant. The occupational interests of students in different genders developed towards different aspects along with the majors knowledge increasing.
