Homework gets educational circles'attention abroad and home all along. The west countries study it a lot recently. In 1960s, some western pedagogues believed that the homework could only bear students too much stress. Till now, homework is considered to accelerate the education in a positive way. Since the reform and opening-up policy, students'stress of entering a higher school is so heavy, most schools dispose a great deal of homework for students, it results in the ill growth of students'body and mind health. So it is necessary to discuss the top-quality homework and how to make it bring into the students'learning.The paper begins with unscrambling the homework and optimization of homework. It introduced the theories of Constructivism, Multi-intelligence and learning in doing as the scientific elements, they instruct the practice in different angles, and provide constructive and theoretical gist. Then the paper analyzes those problems existing in the homework, goes deep into the practice, on the basis of questionnaire and chats, stressfully analyses the problems, such as the teachers and students'understanding and attitudes towards homework, homework's whole status, the concretely operating approaches and so on, and opens out its rear deep reasons. The construction of the homework optimization is a complicated system project.At first in the theoretical lay, the paper begins with the five angles of analyzing and evaluating homework's validity, puts forward the thoughts of self-determination, cooperation and exploration, and gets going by carrying out six principles in the course of homework; and the paper dissertates the strategies of homework optimization particularly in four aspects of teachers, schools, students, parents, it advances plenty of serviceable suggestions, they offer the guarantees in order to realize the new pattern homework successfully. Then the paper optimizes detailed about homework design, assignment and evaluation. At last, the paper validates whether the above strategies are quite serviceable and have bright foreground or not, through several cases in the practice.The paper mainly explores why we optimize the homework and how to optimize it in practice. It is found that the traditional criterion of analyzing and evaluating homework is usually the only quantity and the extent of difficulty, while the paper has a new criterion, that is the efficiency or inefficacy, and judge its efficiency in five angles of view, they are the character of homework, students'acceptable quantity, the intention of homework design, the reasonable limit, and whether it's sensuous or not. They are also the innovation of the paper.To change the illogical actualities of homework refers various realms, such as, the change of curriculum evaluation, the adjustment of curriculum difficulty, the shift of teaching methods and so on, so it can't be solved only by homework optimization. But the most significance of the research is to make the familiar homework be students'paradise for their growth and progress; it is the representation of deepening New Curriculum Reform, and also the final aim of the reform.
