Based on the characteristics and objectives of Chinese language teaching in secondary vocational school, by investigating and analyzing the present situation of Chinese language teaching and studying, this paper analyzed the problems of secondary vocational school, and in conjunction with the studying characteristics of students of secondary vocational school, clarified that we should develop capacity-oriented comprehensive quality and explored how to put quality education into practice. The paper is classified into five parts. The first part introduced the research background, objective and significance of the development of vocational education. The vocational education trend underwent society—oriented education, knowledge—oriented education, capacity—oriented education, and now comes to quality—oriented education, therefore, the transformation of cultivation of students from post—oriented education or education to quality education or comprehensive vocational ability education became the very core of vocational education reform at the beginning of this century. Through the summary of the function and present situation of Chinese language teaching in secondary vocational school, the introduction of quality education conception, and in conjunction with the error of quality education at the present stage, the second part mainly investigated how to put quality education into practice in the Chinese language teaching of secondary vocational school, and put forward the requirement of quality education to Chinese language teaching, that is to emphasize the humanism of Chinese language teaching, cultivation of students' originality innovation and sustainable development to make teaching characteristics prominent. The third part analyzed the gap between the present situation of Chinese language teaching and the requirement of quality education from three aspects: first, deviation of teaching objective which overemphasized professional education rather than basic education; second, arrearage of teaching content including the tired teaching content, single teaching mode and teaching structure, the lack of migratory aptitude in teaching content; third, backward teaching strategy including traditional teaching method as well as teaching mode devoid of characteristics. The fourth part expounded the overview of Chinese language teaching reform against the background of quality education, pointed out the present teaching situation which needs improvement, and put forward a new open teaching mode suitable for students with professionality and openness. The fifth part focused on the detailed reform ideas from three aspects that is the main factors, the process of teaching and teaching methods.Through the elaboration of the problems mentioned above, this paper is intended to arouse teachers' attention to the importance of Chinese language teaching, strengthen the modern theory of self-cultivation and update traditional teaching philosophy in secondary vocational school to reflect the characteristics of quality education. The author put forward some personal opinions on Chinese language teaching in secondary vocational school to devote to the reform of Chinese language teaching.
