With the advent of the popularized higher education, the enrollment of undergraduate is being expanded year by year. And the expansion of postgraduate is also initiated gradually. Many problems in employment become prominent. Blindness, fallowness, passivity and inaccurate orientation led to the waste of human resources and material .However, the career choice is determined fundamentally by the vocational value. How to grasp the characteristics and law of the change and development of students' vocational values is a question refers to comparison students' vocational value. The confusion of carrier choice led to many employment issues. In summing up the study on vocational values home and abroad on the basis of research results, study significance of the vocational values of undergraduate and postgraduate is put forward in this thesis. In use of Ning Weiwei revised Saparmurat (Super ,1970), vocational values are researched in a comparative and analysis way .Moreover ,career choice orientation is surveyed .Layered sample was employed to survey 400 students from Huazhong university of Science and Technology. With 395 copies of valid questionnaires compared and analyzed the following results are gained.(1) In general, the undergraduate valued personal development value followed by the external value and economic value. Vocational values are positive and aggressive.The value of undergraduate and postgraduate scale ranked quite consistently. These value measurements including achievements, way of life, economic incomes, colleague relations and reputations are worth their special attention. Compared with similar research results, the finding shows continue ness and development. As for the specific professional measurement, undergraduate lay more emphasis on aesthetic appreciation, management and creativity.(2) through the research of undergraduate and postgraduate from different sexes, grades, family backgrounds, working experience together with different impacts of their parents, differences in assessment of vocational value measures between groups and individuals are found. Different career experience .the locations of sex role, knowledge about knowledge, the pressure of realistic life are the underlying reasons.(3) In summing up the study on vocational values home and abroad on the basis of research results, study significance of the vocational values of undergraduate and postgraduate is put forward in this thesis.(4) College students show an obvious tendency that they choose career based on their majors. This is more obvious as for postgraduates.
