A new round of curriculum reform in basic education has been initiated since 2004. As a result, the course has been undergoing great changes in its structure, content, requirement under the completely new ideology of curriculum reform. The key to implementing the new curriculum is to transform teachers' classroom instruction. Thus, the author, starting from conducting a survey in Changshu, Jiangsu province, investigated history teachers' classroom instructional behavior in senior middle school under the curriculum reform background, including history teachers' instructional preparation, classroom instructional performance, instructional reflections after class, curriculum ideology and so on. Based on the analysis of the results of questionaires, some suggestions are made. That is, teachers should meet the challenges actively, teaching programmes should be perfected and the evaluation of classroom instructional behavior should be established.
