In new century, the new basic education reform in China begins. In this reform, Inquiry Teaching, which encourages students to participate in actively, inquire happily and perform gladly, obtains more and more attention and becomes one of importance of this basic education reform. However, in professional education, especially secondary professional education, the research on how to use Inquire Teaching to arouse the students' interests is not much. The purpose of this study is to find the effective way of improving the students' learning ability and interest according to using Inquiry Teaching in biochemistry teaching in secondary health school.This study is the action research. It bases on a lot of literature review and describes the concept, rational, common features and the basic pattern of Inquiry Study. It analyzes the situation of the professional education and the feasibility of Inquiry Study in biochemistry teaching in secondary health school. The experiment chooses two classes as the experimental class and control class, in which the graduation scores, the male and female rates are similar. The experiment lasts for one term. The Inquiry Study pattern is used in the experimental class and the traditional teaching pattern is used in the control class. After the experiment, a questionnaire is used in these two classes. The results shows that the interests, concentration, comprehension, co-operation consciousness, learning initiative and consciousness of main body of the students in the experimental class are better than in the control class when they learn biochemistry. It is proved that Inquiry Study can improve the students' interests in biochemistry learning and train their consciousness of co-operation and main body.According to the experiment for one term, some problems exist. Firstly, teachers are deficient in the ideological understanding and teaching communication; secondly, Inquiry Teaching requires teachers to have better comprehensive attainment, better knowledge level and better ability to manage the class; thirdly, the ability to ask questions independently of students need to be improved; fourthly, because not all contents are suitable to be taught with inquiry, teachers can not follow Inquiry Teaching like a sheep and it depends upon the teaching contents and real situation.Inquiry Teaching has its own advantages; however it also has its limitations. In general, it does more good than harm. Especially in the current system of education, Inquiry Teaching should be advocated in secondary professional education to arouse the students' interests in learning and improve their general quality to meet the requirement of new times.
