| Accompanied with the age of economic globalization, multi-national cooperation in higher education has been increasingly deepened at new depths. The world-wide reconfiguration of educational resources and the diversification of education investments can be well-explained by the surging tendency of trans-national higher education, which has also been given birth reasonably in China, i.e. schools jointly run by Chinese educators and their foreign counterparts.Despite the most efforts made in college education in China, the advanced vocational education schools jointly run by Chinese and foreign counterparts have still been making great strides in recent years. As a fundamental part of higher education system, the development of advanced vocational education stands out in China's current adoption of mass higher education. Given the ever-rising status in national education system and the rapid growth of the industry, advanced vocational education becomes quite valuable an issue to explore. Driven by the force of economic globalization, advanced vocational and technical education in our country, as a birthplace of graduates skilled in advanced technologies, is bound to be challenged first by the trend of educational globalization over the five years since China's entry into WTO, therefore, international cooperation in school-running becomes no other than the alternative in this regard. However, some ever-increasing problems, such as teaching quality and effectiveness in those jointly-run schools, become inevitable issues to deal with. First of all, the different modes of current joint operation of schools in China will be collated, classified and further discussed and analyzed in the thesis; secondly, some major characters of school joint-operation in the region of South-east Asia are to be summarized in comparison with that in China; thirdly, I'd like to discuss on the effectiveness of joint teaching programs in current Chinese advanced vocational schools, in the light of educational ideology, curriculum design and teaching methods, as well as the main external factors; lastly, it is to put forward a development strategy in the long run for raising the effectiveness of joint-running schools with reference to advanced vocational education in China. |
