Teaching management is a management for teaching which accompanied with the school education. In this sense, where there is a school teaching, there will be a teaching management. Although no formal and scientific management theory of teaching existed in Beisong Dynasty, there are a plenty of practice and experience of the teaching management which have influenced the later education profoundly. Researching the teaching management in Beisong Dynasty is helpful to modern teaching management. Up to now, most of the researches about Beisong Dynasty education focused on education and teaching thought. They pay little attention on the teaching management, not to mention a systematic analysis of the teaching management about local schools in Beisong Dynasty. Therefore, this dissertation mainly explores the general situation of the teaching management of local official schools in Beisong Dynasty, then summarizes the characteristics of management and analyzes its causes to give some enlightenment to current teaching management.This dissertation is divided into five parts:The first part: The preface. It generally introduces the reasons and significance of the study, as well as the research actuality, illustrates the study's methods, the emphases and difficulties.The second part: The definition of the concept. The dissertation argues that teaching management is an activity which carried on by central, local and school executives according on the teaching rules. The purpose of teaching management are ensure the smoothness of teaching progress, improve the quality of the teaching, and achieve the education object and the method integrate optimize and coordinate every traits and process of teaching system. This concept of the teaching management is helpful to the intensive understanding of the subject and content of the teaching management, besides, it grasps the general situation of teaching management from a macroscopic sense.The third part: The introduction of the teaching management of the local official schools in Beisong Dynasty. In this part, the knowledge about regional schools in the Beisong Dynasty will be explained systematically. For example, the teaching management's guiding ideology and purpose, the subject and its duties, the content and measures, etc..The fourth part: The features of the local official schools and its cause in the Beisong Dynasty. In this section the features of the combination between the centralized management and proper decentralized management, the morality and the practicality, strict criterion and suitable freedom are discussed, it also explains the reasons of the existence of these features from the perspectives of politics, economy, culture, education etc..The fifth part: The enlightenment. This part takes brief comment on the teaching management of local official schools in Beisong Dynasty and then takes conclusions as follows: we should make a combination with centralized management and decentralized management, emphasize both moral education and pragmatic talents cultivating, deal with the relation between rules and freedom properly.
