The competency of undergraduate cadets' team leaders will directly influence talent cultivation. In recent years, Competency Assessment Method has become an important technique well applied in management science, psychology, and education. However, Competency Assessment Method is seldom used in studies aimed at the team leaders of undergraduates in military universities. This thesis is a tentative study of modeling both based on the structured job analysis questionnaires and Behavioral Event Interview (BEI). There have been 90 undergraduates' team leaders available for the structured Occupational Information Network (O*NET) job analysis questionnaires. Furthermore, 20 of the team leaders were available for the Behavioral Event Interview (BEI). Finally the modeling aimed at the team leaders' competency in military universities was carried out.The actual results of this study show that:(1) A combined method of structured job analysis questionnaire and Behavioral Event Interview applied in the modeling aimed at the team leaders' competency in military universities turn to be practical.(2) With regard to the time and transcripts' length of the applied Behavioral Event Interview, it was impossible to find significant differences between the excellent group and the ordinary group. It is also confirmed that the coding of interview transcripts is more reliable. Besides these, we find that the model's validity is also good.(3) The findings show that the competency model aimed at the team leaders' competency in military universities consists of 10 competencies: responsibility, personal influence, identifying and solving key problems, caring for students, justice and honesty, managing students in accordance with their aptitude, creating better atmosphere, creativity, communication ability and education ability.
