Training students innovative consciousness and innovative spirit and courage, and continuously improving their innovative ability, is the needs of social development and the requirements of the new times , and is a value orientation of modern education. The innovation thinking ability is the core of the ability to innovation. And the key lies in improving students'innovation thinking ability to improve the students'innovation ability. Cultivating innovative thinking ability of students has become the most challenging problem faced by the modern education.In the first part of this paper, we pointed out the significance of cultivating students'innovation thinking ability with the platform of physics exercises teaching,on the basis of the analysis of the development trend of contemporary society and physics development,and of the new curriculum reform; Then analyzed status of physics exercises teaching in the whole physics teaching, as well as state too much emphasis on the knowledge and skills teaching to the neglect students'all-round development in the high school physics teaching for a long time; and elaborated necessity to cultivate students'innovative thinking ability in the physics exercises teaching. In the second part, we pointed out that the main target of the study——the original innovation thinking ability, on the basis of analysis of the content and quality characteristics of innovative thinking ability, and of external characterization of innovative thinking ability and the level of thinking ability. In the third part, we mainly discussed the feasibility and necessity to cultivate innovation thinking ability in the physics exercises. Through analyzing the function of the physical exercises teaching and the status in the entire physical teaching, as well as the forms of innovation thinking ability in solving physics problems and the guiding role of some basic theory in the physical exercises teaching, which is based on, we posed the basic strategy to cultivate innovative thinking ability in high schools physics'exercises teaching practice. Primarily include:(1) focusing on cultivating the students'question consciousness; (2) paying attention to training the basic methods of solving physical problems; (3) paying attention to developing students'good thinking quality. In the fourth part, we mainly carried out teaching practice to cultivate students'innovation thinking ability. The results show that: cultivating innovative thinking ability in the physical exercises teaching, can improve the quality of the students'innovation thinking ability, such as fluency and flexibility, as well as originality, can promote development of students'innovative thinking ability. In the fifth part of this paper, we further elaborated the specific strategy to cultivate innovative thinking ability in the teaching of physical exercise .Finally, in the concluding part, through the study on theory and practice, we drew a conclusion that the strategy posed, can improve the quality of the students'innovation thinking ability, and can promote development of students'innovative thinking ability. At the same time ,we thought that cultivating students'innovative thinking ability in physics exercises teaching is necessary, but we can not just rely on physics exercises teaching to train students'innovative thinking ability, only can relying on physics exercises not complete the task of training innovative thinking ability.
