In recent years,along with the expansion of student enrollment, graduates' employment situation is sterner and sterner than before. During job hunting, university graduates get much anxious mood. If college student is frequently in the anxious mood,it will influence negatively their employment, mind and body health. Presently, here s only a few empirical research studies on factor of employment anxiety. In this paper, I start with the research of the college student's social support and cognitive appraisal. In order to study the relation among college student's social support, cognitive appraisal and employment anxiety, it also researches on the current situations of college student's social support, cognitive appraisal and employment anxiety, by means of the questionnaire and assisted interview. On the one hand, the paper can enrich the later theories about employment; on the other hand, it provides us with the knowledge for developing measures.The results have indicated that:1. The self-designed questionnaires of college students'employment social support and employment cognitive appraisal have good reliability and validity. There are three factors consisting of the structure of college students'employment social support: Family support, Friends/peer support, and Teacher support. The employment cognitive appraisal of college students includes threat appraisal, challenge appraisal and competence appraisal.2. The seniors have higher anxiety than that of normal.3. There are significant differences among different demography variables. As to college students'employment social support, there are differences from and the differences lie in sex, the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre, political status and family origins. There into, the differences of Family support exist in sex, specialty, the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre, political status and family origins and domestic economy condition in family support; the differences of Friends/peers'support in sex, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status; the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status in teacher support.There are also differences of sex, specialty and the circumstances of occupying cadre in the threat appraisal; and there into, differences in the challenge appraisal exist in sex, graduate will, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status; the differences in the competence appraisal in the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status.There are also differences of sex, specialty, the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status in state anxiety; the differences of specialty, the circumstances of obtaining employment, the circumstances of occupying cadre and political status in trait anxiety.4. It has found that employment social support has significant negative correlation with employment anxiety; challenge appraisal and competence appraisal have been found to have significant negative correlation with employment anxiety; and threat appraisal has been found to have significant positive correlation. Employment cognitive appraisal works as the mediator between employment social support and employment anxiety.
