With the attention of the problem of youth suicide, life education is highlighted in many countries and various interpretations of life education are appearing.Through analysis of the problem of youth suicide, the study found that there is something wrong for the young people in the establishment of their life values. Thus, an urgent need to solve in life education is to find the reasons why the young treat their life with indifference, and bring forward the corresponding countermeasures. On this issue, the self-theory of George Herbert Mead provides us a new way of thinking. With the self-theory of Mead, the study pointed out some important reasons for the young to disorient their life values, such as isolation of"self"from society, the wrong choice and understanding of"symbols", and the missed control of"I"by"me".Therefore, life education should focus on the following aspects to find out the way to solve the problem of disorientation: Society is the source of the sanctity of life; sense of belonging comes from communication; rational sense of life is based on the correct choice and interpretation of symbols; the enhancement of life values can not be separated from the cultural heritage.
