The new curriculum of our country's regular senior middle schools classifies the mathematics subject into required course and optional course, which thoroughly gets rid off the situation that the required subjects dominate everything. The principle for determining the content of the optional subject is: to satisfy the students'interest and the demands of future development, so as to lay the foundation for the students to study further to acquire relatively higher mathematics accomplishment. Education is an active procedure, including the active efforts on the students'own initiative. If what is provided by a school is an interesting matter for the learners, then the learners will take an initiative part in it, and thus to learn how to deal with the situations effectively. Interest is a big hot point problem in the research of modern psychology, especially the problem of children's study interest is the important field in the research of the educational psychology and study psychology. The present article, through survey conducted to analyse school liberal art students'study interest and their individual performance in mathematics as well as of the status quo in liberal arts mathematics teaching, proposes corresponding tactics for implementing the teaching, in the hope that the broad masses of senior middle school liberal arts teachers should teach the liberal arts mathematics well, and enhance the teaching efficiency, so as to help liberal arts students to learn their mathematics well. The present article is based on the aspects as follows. First of all, it deals with the relation between the fear to the mathematics subject and the interests in it from most of the art students. Secondly, it relates to the students' non-intelligent factor in learning the course of mathematics, thus offering a platform for the researchers who make surveys in mathematics education as well as approaches of mathematics teaching. Thirdly, strategies are to be found in contributing to raising the art students' interests in mathematics learning so that their progress are likely to be made. Last but not least, the author would like to offer some advice on teaching.
