Education equality is the mainstream of current compulsory education reform in the world. Education equality has different content in different times. With the prevailing of compulsory education since 1980s, there were many reforms on compulsory education admission policies happened in England, for example the realization of parents' choice of school, the increase of school independence, the raise of school education quality etc. These were all set to achieve the objective of educational power and chance equality. The development and changes of British admission policies on compulsory education has important reference to Chinese admission equality of current compulsory education.The building of education system of British can date back to 1870s. The British education system has established after the World War Two, which realized the goal of everyone attending secondary education. The British government finished the mission of compulsory prevailing and the reform of comprehensive secondary education in 1960s and 1970s. Since 1980s, the British government has been pushing the reform of education market by publishing a series of policies and carrying out diversity admission policies.At present, The British government engages in the building of equal admission system. The main policies including the setting of new schools, increasing liabilities of local government, the independence of school, the legal management and diversity of local admission policies.In the light of reform experiences of British compulsory education, the current compulsory education reform in China should reinforce the responsibility of government, achieve the education equality, promote the balance development of education, increase the educational expenditure and build up a guarantee system.
