The Functional Research On Students' Associations In Higher Vocational Colleges

The Students' Associations in Higher Vocational Colleges is an important carrier of the campus culture,an effective way to improve students' comprehensive qualities and abilities,and also a new essential channel to develop students' ideological and political education.Nowadays,as the continuous development of our educational system reform and a series of new changes which have imerged in college students' study,lifestyle and ways of thinking,associations develop rapidly as mushrooms grow after the spring rain.So positive activities organized by students'associations play a significant role not only in students'education, management, daily life and recreations but also in their subconscious elevation of thought and morals, this thesis, based on previous research results, is trying to have a systematic exploration of the functions and extensions concerning students'associations in high vocational colleges.Started by researching on the development connotations and historical development,based on analysing the present situation,characteristics and the existing problems,centered at studying the fundamental functions of students'associations in higher vocational colleges,the thesis analyse and research systematically on the present situations,fundamental functions and problems exist when constructing the associations.The present thesis is divided into four parts. The first part describes the aims and significance of the research. After a systematic analysis of the current situation and the problems to solve,it, by referring to the talent orientation in high vocational colleges, makes the aims, areas to cover, and significance of the research clear. The second part discusses the nature and features of students'associations in higher vocational colleges. Based on a close examination of connotations and historical development, the thesis defines students'associations as mass organizations in which students from higher vocational colleges, voluntarily and independently, conduct their activities according to the constitution of such organizations, schools'disciplines and academics, as well as students'personal interests. Such organizations, under new circumstances, are important in that they can unify students to conduct ideological and political education, and become supplementary, both ideologically and politically,in the education of students based on units by grade or by class. The third part comes to the sensible orientation of students'associations in higher vocational colleges. By relating the orientation of talent training, the thesis proposes the basic functions of students'associations in higher vocational colleges as follows: the function of education, the function of construction and development for higher vocational colleges, and the function of socialization. The fourth part presents suggestions to further strengthen and improve the students'associations in higher vocational colleges. Not ignoring the negative effects of students'associations in higher vocational colleges, the thesis, bearing in mind the general requirements and main tasks concerning the work of students'associations in colleges, puts forward the long-term mechanism for further sustainable development of the students'associations in higher vocational colleges. This thesis, based on previous research about the functions of the associations and the ways to strengthen the associations,has its own understandings and innovations as follows:First,having analysed and summaried the nature and characteristics of the students'associations in higher vocational colleges, the thesis define the associations as informal students'organisations for their self-management and self-development,thus it has the fundamental characteristics of the informal organisations;Second,the thesis oriented the functions of the associations sensibly based on the full development of the students,vocational colleges and the whole society,makes the educational,constructional and social functions of students'associations in higher vocational colleges clear;Third,the thesis put forward some systematic,practical ways and measures based on previous research,then provide theorical and practical references for the construction and development of students'associations in higher vocational colleges.Undoutedly,this thesis has its certain deficiencies,especially insufficient for the theroical analysis of students'associations in higher vocational colleges.So it needs further improvement and perfection.
