A Study On Psychometrics Of The Vocational Interest And Personal Style Of University Students In Guizhou Province

Vocational interest,as a core part of vocation consulting, plays an important role in the occupation selection and occupation design.The measurement of Personal style expends the new approach related to vocational interest.Currently,it is very valuable in theory and practice to integrate vocational interest and personal style,especially under pressure of employment continually,this study could help students realize their vocational interest and personal style,and look for appropriate vocational domain and special vocational goal. Above all,based on overviews of former researchers and the investigation of open-ended questionnaire,the present study puts forward the theoretical hypothesis of vocational interest types of university students.According to the result of exploring factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of the preliminary questionnaire,the paper develops the formal questionnaire.Secondly,the study translates the personal style inventory(PSI)and investigates its applicability in Chinese university students.Finally,we investigate the characteristics of vocational interests and personal styles of university students by those two questionnaires and explore the relation of vocational activities and personal styles.The results of this study follow as:1.There are seven types' vocational activities of university students in Guizhou province.These types are Technology, Conventional,Investigate,Nature,Art,Society,management.2.The self-designed questionnaire of undergraduates' vocational interests was of high reliability and fair validity. It can be regarded as a kind of evaluative implement on undergraduates' vocational interests.3 According to the mean scores of all types of vocational interests,The order from high to low are Society,Investigate, Art,Technology,Conventional,Nature,management.4.Except for the Conventional type,the significant differences of the other types of the university students' vocational interests were found in grade.The significant differences of Investigate.and Art types of the university students' vocational interests were found in specialty.Male students were more apt to Technology,investigate,management and Nature.Female students were more apt to Artistic and Society.Literary history students were more apt to Artistic, management and Nature.Science and technology students were more apt to investigate.The interactions between genders and specialties on occupational interests were not statistically significant.5.The revised edition of personal style inventory of university students was of high reliability and validity.It accorded with English edition and could adapt to application as a kind of evaluative implement on university students' personal styles.6.According to the mean scores of all dimensionalities of personal style,The order from high to low are share,plan, vision,control,insight,analysis.The significant differences of share and control were found in grade.The significant difference of analysis was found in specialty.Female students were more apt to share and control.Science and technology students were more apt to analysis..7.Technology had positive correlation with plan,vision, insight,analysis.Conventional positive correlation with plan, control,insight,analysis and share.Investigate had positive correlation with plan,vision;control,insight,analysis: Nature had positive correlation with plan,control,insight, analysis.Art had positive correlation with share,plan,vision, insight.Society had positive correlation with share,plan, vision,control,insight,analysis.Management had positive correlation with share,plan,vision,insight,analysis.8.Personal style had influence on vocational interest. Analysis and plan had positive affection but share had negative affection on technology.Plan and control had predictive to Conventional.Plan and insight had positive predictive to investigate.All dimensionality of Personal styles had no influence on nature.Vision,share and analysis had influence on art.Share and plan had positive predictive to society. Vision,control and insight had influence on management.
