Currently, as a kind of learning style, cooperative learning has been more and more widely applied in student-centered teaching practice, becoming abreakthrough and complement to traditional teaching style. This paper brings to light the connotation and value of cooperative learning by expounding its history and background. Cooperative learning is not only a kind of learning style but also a kind of educational ideology. The value of cooperative learning lies in improving students' academic achievement and classroom atmosphere effectively; besides the more important is that it effectively brings about a great advance in students' non-cognitive characters. Therefore, carrying out deep research on its experiment has profound significance.The paper, which is related to the study of cooperative learning in review courses of Senior Chemistry, is based on the rationales and the methods of cooperative learning. According to the characteristics of the subject and the actual instances of the students, the principle aim of the paper is to lead the students to learn together in groups, and promote the comprehensive development of the students in cognition and sensibility as well as in personality and variety by cooperative interactions between individuals.The main functions of cooperative learning in review courses mainly lie in: 1. It can provide students more powerful backup mechanism. 2. It can develop a variety of traits and skills of students. 3. It can offer each student opportunities of success and the space of developing creative thought.The author carried out experiment in the form of cooperative review in chemistry teaching of Senior Grade 3 and arrived at the following conclusions:1. Adopting the teaching method of cooperative review not only is favor of the improvement of learning interest and encourage autonomous learning of the students, but also help the students know themselves well and be confident.2. Adopting the teaching method of cooperative review is favor of developing the harmonious relationship between individuals.It not only can enhance the friendship between the students, but also promote to develop the friendly relationships between the students and the teachers; and at the same time, it will make more students care about collective activities of the class.3. Adopting the teaching method of cooperative review can come into being better learning atmosphere in class. There will be more students arguing over some questions and more smiling faces will appear in the class of cooperative learning.4. Adopting the teaching method of cooperative review can enhance the students'abilities of summarizing and inducing, the abilities of getting information and expressing, and the abilities of analyzing and solving problems, it is also favor of developing the good habit of learning by themselves.5. Adopting the teaching method of cooperative review is favor of improving the motivation and scores of the students who cannot do the best in their study.It also makes for coming into being better atmosphere of learning and reducing the possibility of polarization.
